Band Bio

Boasting a line up of musicians all of whom have had vast experience as part of the New Zealand Punk / Hardcore scene in such acts as, DSM, Evil Priest, Malcontent, Smooth Jimmies, Kid Nuisance & AOV. The Bleeders bring together a innovative sound, drawing influence from Punk, Hardcore & Rock. Described by Real Groove magazine (The Bleeders bring it straightest, but that's no diss. They've got something boiling inside 'em that needs getting out.) and yep that's exactly what they have done since there impressive debut performance in Feb 2003. With the attitude of "If we don't do it for ourselves, no one will" has seen them playing countless dates around the North Island as well as appearances in the South Island including international support slots for Epitaph & Fat Wreck recording artists Hot Water Music, Good Riddance, Strung Out and New York Hardcore legends Sick of It All as well as The Ataris (Sony) and the Hope Conspiracy (EVR). In July of 2003 The Bleeders entered York Street recording studios and recorded their highly successful debut for Elevenfiftyseven Records 'A Bleeding Heart' EP. Engineered by Steve Roberts. The Bleeders were also announced winners of the Space Coca-Cola Launch pad competion, which saw them; complete a video for the single 'A Bleeding Heart'. October/November saw The Bleeders back on the road with a full national tour in support. A Bleeding Heart spent 12 weeks on the 95BFM top 10 and received good airplay on channel Z and the Rock. December / January saw The Bleeders on tour with Blindspott as well as securing a slot on the 2004 Big Day Out and include in the 1 st announcement for the 2005 Big Day Out. Funding from NZ on Air saw The Bleeders back in the studio recording the new single ‘ All That Glitters' along with a video directed by Greg Page. All That Glitters has featured in the Bnet, Radio scope & C4 charts respectively. In addition a highly successful national tour tour along side Deja Voodoo and The Have. The new commercial single ‘So Lonely‘ has been received well at all media with a debut chart position at # 25 on the official NZ top 40 chart. Greg Page was once called upon to direct the hugely successful video ‘So Lonely' .High rotate on both radio & music television with strong media attention. On the release of this single The Bleeders have toured nationally covering both Islands. December 2004 saw The Bleeders playing shows on the East coast of Australia in support of their upcomming Australian release of 'A Bleeding Heart EP which will also include bonus tracks 'So Lonely' and 'Family' available February 7th through Melbourne label Casadeldisco Records.
